Football analytics aren't there to give you all the answers, but they're intended to

get you closer to the answers.

I've often asked, especially on early episodes of this podcast, why there are people out there

who willingly ignore and even bash analytics, when all analytics do is help provide more

context to things that our eyes can't see or consume.

I would guess that some are doing so, some are knocking analytics and numbers because

they don't understand them and they feel threatened.

It's a new way of looking at the game, and if they're not part of that, they don't

like it.

However, that's truly, I think, just a small portion of the anti-numbers population,

because I think most folks who don't like analytics don't because there's too much happening.

There's analytical saturation.

People are making stats about stats about stats.

And I can't even disagree.

It's important to remember that data itself is never wrong.

It's the analysis and utilization of that data that can be wrong.

But the truth is, some data is also better than other data.
