I'm getting a lot of messages asking when it's gonna go up and I promise I will tell you guys all at once.

I went to an escape room this weekend with my friends Peter and Mikey and I loved it. I always afforded escape rooms because I thought they were like kind of dumb and nerdy. No offense. But it was really fun.

We did a Zodiac Killer theme because it felt really on-brand and we solved that beach.

Three, my family keeps telling me I swear too much on here and it's true but also who cares. I actually think I swear on here probably more than I do in real life.

But you know what they say. I don't know. But I saw Facebook article one time that was like, scientists prove if you swear more you're a genius and I'm like, well great. Now everyone gets to know what I've known all along. Just a genius.

Let's see. I'm so excited for today's story because it's been requested so many times. We're talking about Jeffrey Dahmer and I'm definitely gonna tell the main story that we all know. But I'm gonna be hitting you with some facts throughout the episode. So hopefully you learn something new for me this week.

Jeffrey was born on May 21st, 1960 to Lionel and Joyce Dahmer. He had a little brother that came in 1966. David, his parents gave him a lot of attention as a child. Throughout his childhood though his mom was a little nutty. She's been referred to several times as being temperamental and attention star-hermed. Same.

I feel like they really highlight this in the 2017 film My Friend Dahmer because they show her as just kind of like this messy lady. But that's how it was. His parents had a tendency to go at it mostly because of his mom's theatrics but nothing too out of the ordinary. She was just like really anxious all the time and blew the littlest things out of proportion. Also same.

As they got older into childhood attention rises in the family home. Joyce was left alone with the boys a lot because Lionel was studying chemistry at Marquette University. Her attitude and dramatic behavior seemed to worsen by the day and she even attempted suicide once by overdosing on one of the several pain medications she'd grown attached to.

At school other kids described Jeffrey as a pretty quiet kid and one line I read from an article said you could tell he was neglected at home and then I'm wondering what is what is what is somebody who looks neglected at home look like I'm like did he have fucking like patches on all of his clothes not like cool patches but like raggedy and patches like one of the fucking hard knock life kids.

But he was quiet he kept to himself he had he had a few friends his fascination with bones which really is going to be a pretty prominent thing in his life began at a young age.

He watched his dad remove some animal bones from underneath the house and he played with them by clinking them together to make some noise and little Jeffrey was thrilled getting his rocks off parents if you find a dead animal under your house for the love of God please don't hand them to your young children to play with.

According to facts and history they will end up later deboning humans so Jeffries like hot on this right he's loving it bones are live he would scavenge for road kill he would literally pick up the carcasses and try and piece them back together and on one occasion he put a fucking hot dog close your ears he put a fucking dogs head on a stick so I mean this kids there I mean we know you start it starts with the animals.

When his brother was born in 1966 the family moved to Doyle's town Ohio which sounds thrilling two years later they moved again to Bath Ohio and soon they'd be bathing in something much darker now you come up with a good transitional pun fucks so fast word a little 10 year old Jeffrey is not one for conversation later psychiatrists have suggested he may have even shown signs of suffering from assburgers which is on the spectrum.

Though I don't think he was ever officially diagnosed but that obviously has nothing to do with him being a weirdo just more about him being quiet because sometimes you know that is that's a commonality but just like vaccines have nothing to do with autism.

Whoops okay so anyways back to the story when he was like 10 he was having dinner with his family one night and they were eating chicken and Jeffrey asked his dad what would happen if they put the bones in bleach and like if that was me.

I'd be like hmm all right nope we're not doing that but his dad was a chemist last we forget so he's like oh dope you're showing interest in something so his dad began showing Jeffrey how to preserve bones something Jeffrey would practice often on his animal findings and later humans.
