| 1:15.3 | And story number one comes from Matthew. From the age of 1622 I was a waiter in an old |
| 1:24.7 | stately home called Eastwell Manor. The manor house itself dates back to the 16th century |
| 1:31.1 | and is of great historical significance. Queen Victoria's great granddaughter lived there |
| 1:36.7 | and it is also the burial place for Richard the Third's illegitimate son. As you can imagine |
| 1:42.3 | given its age and its placement deep in the Kent countryside it is not short of ghost stories. |
| 1:49.1 | One such ghost is that of a horseman often seen riding up the driveway to the house itself |
| 1:54.2 | before heading off suddenly and disappearing into the lake. Another is that of a white lady |
| 1:59.4 | often seen roaming the sellers. In my six years of employment I can't say I witnessed |
| 2:05.1 | anything as substantial as that. However strange activity was a regular occurrence. Events |
| 2:11.2 | that could only be described as abnormal. This is the story of one such event. My best friend |
| 2:18.6 | and I used to work in the restaurant in a building separate from the main house. As we were |
| 2:23.5 | the eldest of the waiting staff we often did the late shifts together. We were working |
| 2:28.9 | a late shift together one night no different from any other night. That was until about |
| 2:33.5 | midnight. All of the customers had gone home and we were setting up the restaurant for |
| 2:38.9 | the morning shift. Polishing plates, sorting out the money etc. We were standing at the |
| 2:44.9 | counter in the restaurant just having a laugh, chatting about music. When behind us we |
| 2:49.7 | could hear noises coming from behind the kitchen door. We knew for a fact that we were the |
