Hey everyone, and welcome back to Big Mad True Crime, where we get Big Mad over True Crime.

I'm your host Heather Ashley, and today's case is out

of Halifax County, Virginia. Small Winona, and a brother named Taza.

Emma and Shana were actually born on the same day just three

years apart, so they called themselves the birthday twins. Those two were absolutely inseparable

and spent as much time together as humanly possible. I'm talking playing games and just imagining

what life was going to look like when they were grownups.

Shawna actually told me that their big plans for the future that they would share with each other

were buying houses next door to each other with this zip line in between them

and a slide that would start at one of their bedroom windows and end in a pool.

It was the kind of childhood dreams that only two

best friend's sisters could come up with. Shana adored everything about Emma. She said that Emma was

a bundle of energy, always laughing and smiling. She called her a caretaker, I mean, someone who would

put band-aids on her emotional boo-boos, as she said.

And in an interview with 13 News, Shana said, she may as well have been the big sister.

She kept me in line.
