Summary

Hello and welcome to episode 308 of The Mindful Kind podcast.

In this episode, you'll hear about some of my experiences with Imposter Syndrome, including how it stopped me from becoming a psychologist and how it almost interfered with my dream of writing a book!

You'll also hear about some experiences from people in my community and how Imposter Syndrome impacted their lives, too.

Understanding Imposter Syndrome and how it might be affecting you can be a great step forward! So be sure to listen to the stories and ask yourself - do you see any similarities? Could you be experiencing Imposter Syndrome?

And if you'd like to work on overcoming Imposter Syndrome even more, stay tuned for my upcoming online course, Derail Imposter Syndrome!

Head over to www.rachaelkable.com/podcast/308 to sign up for my email list. That way, you'll be the first to know when enrolment opens for Derail Imposter Syndrome:)

Thank you so much for listening and I hope you have a wonderful week, Mindful Kind.

Hello and welcome to episode 308 of the Mindful Kind podcast. I hope you're feeling really well

0:30.0

and the second episode was number 276 called Overcoming Imposter Syndrome. Now, shortly after I sent an email

0:57.0

to my wonderful subscribers about the episodes and something happened that I didn't really expect.

1:02.4

I started getting reply after reply after reply from people who were experiencing

1:07.3

imposter syndrome too and they explained how they were feeling stressed and overwhelmed,

1:12.6

or they were missing out on great opportunities, or they were self-sabotaging.

1:17.3

One lovely woman even described how she'd been studying and working in her industry for 26 years,

and she was afraid of starting her own business because she felt like she was a fraud and

1:28.0

she felt like there were other people who were more qualified or knowledgeable and could do a better job.

1:33.5

I also heard from a wonderful man who was kind enough to start a support group for writers,

1:38.8

but every time he posted his own work, he was afraid other people would think he was a fraud

1:43.8

because other members of

1:44.9

the group had achieved things like publishing books. And there he was doing something great for other

1:50.4

people when making this positive difference in the world while still feeling like an imposter.

1:56.1

And in another email, a sentence really jumped down at me. This lovely lady wrote,

2:01.3

I feel like I've been promoted beyond my competence, and I'm terrified they will find out I'm a fraud.
