I'd actually like to start this episode with an

apology because I found out something rather odd this week. I went to the website because I'm actually

working on a book, and I'll tell you more about that, hopefully in a few weeks. But in the process

of doing that, I noticed that we have already done a Bible study on 1st and 2 Timothy. We did it a number of years

ago, but I had forgotten. So I am repeating myself. Now, what I don't know what to do here is,

and I could use some feedback. When we finish this study, we can go on to 2nd Timothy as

originally planned, or we can just say, hey, we've done this before, and we can do, and we can

go do something else. I would be interested in your feedback. First Timothy chapter four,

the spirit clearly says that in latter times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving

spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through hypocritical liars whose consciences have been

seared as with a hot iron. They forbid people to marry in order them to abstain from certain foods,

which God created, to be received with Thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth.

For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received

with Thanksgiving because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer. And so Paul starts this one

and says, there is good teaching and there is bad teaching. And in fact, when we say there is

bad teaching, there is teaching that is taught by demons. There is

teaching whose origin is hell. And Paul isn't one to mince words in general, but here, I think,

in a letter to Timothy, he is even more free. And he is saying that it isn't as simple as there
