In 1521, at the Diet of Worms, Martin Luther was asked to recant his writings.

Luther responded,

"'Unless I am convinced, from the sacred scriptures that I am in error, I cannot and will not recant.

Here I stand, I cannot do otherwise. God help me, Amen."

Many times we will talk about our guests' paths to Lutheranism.

It is in a lot of ways a story of circumstances and of different currencies in their life

that by a circuitous path they come to find the comfort of confessor, Lutheran theology

and practice, and sometimes that path is more deliberate.

It's a little more careful and a little more analytical.
