Gerald and Charlene Galego, the sex slave killers, likely that many of you have not heard of them.

Despite killing 10 people together, Gerald and Charlene are not nearly as well known as some of the bigger names we've already covered in true crime,

but not because their crimes are not equally horrific.

As a couple, Gerald and Charlene turn their dark sexual desires, or possibly only followed Gerald's desires into a murderous rampage,

that left at least 10 young people dead in California, Oregon, and Nevada between 1978 and 1980.

Some of these girls is youngest 13 years old, barely teenagers, sexually assaulted, tortured, before being murdered in a remote location.

Nine women were raped before being bludgeoned or shot to death.

One man killed for happening to be with one of the young women that Gerald wanted to rape and kill.

Most of the victims' teens, one pregnant, for two long years, the serial killer couple terrorized the city of Sacramento.

The press called the crimes the sex slave murders, and entire communities paralyzed with fear.

Finally, when Charlene and Gerald killed two young college students, Craig Miller and Mary Beth Sores,

detectives got their first lead, a license plate number that would lead them first to Charlene's parents' house and then to the killers themselves.

After a cross-country chase, the Galegos were finally caught in Omaha, Nebraska, November 17, 1980, at a Western Union,

where a pregnant Charlene was collecting money wired to her from her parents.

Charlene's arrests and subsequent plea deal shocked the public.

She did not seem like the type of person to be mixed up in a brutal sex crime spree, murder spree.

Born in 1956 and stocked in California, Charlene Williams was adored by her upper middle class parents,

spoiled as a single child.

She played the violin, was given so many advantages in life, her father, daughter, whatever she wanted, like new cars,

even her own small business, Gerald, on the other hand, seemed exactly like the kind of person who would do what he ended up doing.

By 1977, the year he met Charlene, Galegos was a convicted armed robber, sex offender, with a prolific arrest sheet.

He was also on his fifth marriage and was a man who'd molested his own daughter from a previous marriage beginning at the age of six.
