He's the author of more than 20 science fiction stories,

which have appeared in magazines such as Asimov's and Inner Zone,

in anthologies such as Solaris Rising 2 and

Deer's Best SF-17, and on podcast such as Escape Pod and Starship Sofa.

He's also a member of the Manhattan Writing Group Altered Fluid, which also includes previous guests such as Matthew

Cressle, Rajan Kana, and Sam J Miller.

And I just want to note that today's guest is named Mercurio David Rivera, and he goes by

David, so that's why you'll hear me refer to him that way during

this interview.

Okay, so first of all, tell us about the writing class that you took with Terry Bisson.

Boy, you know, I was taking a break from work at the time and one thing that I always wanted to try my hand at was writing science fiction.
