The parole board cut his sentence in half so that he would not have to spend more than 30 years in prison on nine rapes.

We're talking about somebody who's absolutely capable of continuing to rape.

There's no question that this guy can continue to be a rapist.

That's a really exciting current case that hasn't even gone to trial yet that we're digging really deeply in that's big time in the headlines so I know you guys will love that but speaking of cases Jim.

I really wanted to talk to you about this case today I am I am beyond I am beyond frustrated with this horrific case it is driving me insane it hit the news a few days ago it's out of the state of Oregon and Jim here the facts some 30 years ago a sex offender a horrible human being named Richard Gilmore.

It was engaged in a series of what appeared to be stranger rapes of young women and girls and I'm talking young girls and the statute of limitations ran on eight of the nine cases that he admitted that he had committed.

The final case was from the eighties and it was a young girl she was 13 years old at the time she has come out publicly now i'm not going to use her last name even though she has come out publicly everyone can find it for themselves but her name is Tiffany and she's an adult now she was 13 when this Gilmore piece of crap attacked and raped her he was convicted Jim of that one offense the other eight.

The other eight were outside what's called the statute of limitations want to tell our listeners what that means yeah the statute of limitations is a limitation that the states put on the space of time after the occurrence after the crime is committed how much time after that somebody can actually be prosecuted for those cases it's ridiculous to have that on child sex crimes cases they don't have a statute of limitations.

Anywhere in the country on murder it's always okay if it's okay for murder why isn't it okay for sexual assault for rape for child sex crimes it's just ridiculous it's actually incredibly aggravating because in cases like child sex crimes and in rape many times it takes a long time one for the victim to come forward or victims and two to identify and catch.

Suspect so if this person moves around enough evades capture for long enough they're Scott free this guy happened to be just within the statute of limitations on one of those cases a horrific rape of that 13 year old girl but he only could be sentenced on that because he was beyond the statute of limitations on all the others and even though he admitted to doing them couldn't get punished for them.

So he is about to come out to be released to a community near you and that is supposedly safe for the community.

Well Jim I mean the sexual limitations issue drives me insane and I certainly hope Oregon has fixed it but that issue came up on our Midwest monster project on our audible project we have the serial offender who engaged in rapes for for two decades and at this moment in time there's only one rape because of the statute of limitations that was in force there's only one that he can now be prosecuted for now he can be prosecuted for that one going forward in perpetuity because.

Kansas where these incidents happen has changed their law but all these other young women who were attacked at home and rape by this terrible violent offender will never be the subject of an actual prosecution now of course it doesn't mean they can't come forward until their story but still justice will not be done for them in their minds and the same thing happening here this young girl Tiffany she was 13 when she was raped.

This Gilmore guy went to prison and get this Jim the judge sentenced him to up to 60 years in prison he gave him a sentence of 30 to 60 that was in 1987 well in 19 okay so the judge who sees the victims who hears from the victims who looks the offender in the eye who listens to all the criminal history who listens to all the police officers on exactly what happened in this case the judge thinks he's dead.
