What year is it? That's my first question. What year is it? Well of course it's 2015 while I'm recording this and in fact this year marks the 75th

anniversary of the Battle of Britain which took place in 1940 and since this is such a

pivotal moment in British history, I thought it would be

appropriate to cover it in some way in an episode of this podcast. Also I was

asked fairly recently by a listener in the comments section of my website to talk about the story of the Battle of Britain,

specifically the role of one particular group of pilots known as Squadron number 303. So here it is

the story of one of the most important moments in modern British history, the

Battle of Britain and the contribution made by a small group of pilots.

The Battle of Britain is often cited as a proud moment in British history, particularly by

Nationalistic Britss who also believe that we shouldn't let

any immigrants into our country.

Squadron number 303 killed twice as many German fighters as any other squadron, and one pilot in particular became something of a
