Matt Parish and I'm Kevin Quigley and Kevin I just want to say this really fast

Nate and I used to talk about this a long time ago when we were doing Wedway

radio in the early years and we looked around at the podcast landscape and we

thought A how lucky we were to have such awesome listeners and I was reviewing with you some of our

downloads the other day old shows that we did and the fact that like people when they find

this show they will go back and listen to stuff and I'm always

amazed at like what people like and what they don't like you can't even plan for

it like it's crazy and then predict it no you can't you're like I have the greatest show idea ever and then like it's the one that people don't love and then you'll just we'll throw a show together in like 10 minutes and that's beloved for years.

It makes no sense. But B, we have smart listeners. Is that a thing? Like that's a thing, I think. Yeah yeah I think that you know our listeners I think

are people who gravitate towards our show tend to be pretty intelligent I

would say I think because we put out a fairly smart show we try to stay away from like

really you know like pure I'll drivel we try to we try to aim high yeah like not a lot of really speculative stuff like even

stuff that we don't know if it's correct or not will be like hey we don't know if

this is right or this is rumor or this is like old lore from like years and years of fandom but like who really knows if it's true and the other part of that that I was thinking of is I think about the show sometimes and I'm like it's kind of it's difficult show to do because we have to do all the prep and it's because our

listeners are smart like you can't fake it when you're doing a show like this because like people are

gonna sniff it out pretty

quick if you cut corners. It's so funny like sometimes we will we'll do all this

research for a show and then in the middle of the show you're like oh wait I don't think that's right or I'll be

I'll do the same thing and then we have to scramble to to verify each other's facts because we don't

want to put in like fake stuff in the show we don't want we don't want to

mislead anybody if the mainstream media would do the amount of research that we do
