I am eight weeks into training to go sub-7 at the Leadville 100. My name is coach Jonathan

0:04.4

Lee. I work here at Trainor Road, but I'm also a father of career professional and a mountain biker that wants to go fast at Leadville. It's a big project that I'm working on this year. I've done Leadville twice before. I finished in, I think, 8.14-ish back in 2019, somewhere around there. And then last year I did 743.

0:22.5

In both those instances, I'd say that the... 14-ish back in 2019, somewhere around there. And then last year I did 743.

0:22.5

In both those instances, I'd say that the prep wasn't like perfectly ideal, particularly

0:28.1

in 2019.

0:29.4

But I'd like to see if it's possible at the age of 38 to go under or close to seven hours

0:35.6

flat.

0:36.0

That's the main goal, sub-7.

0:39.1

So here's what I'm doing to make that happen. If we go back to, geez, I guess if we go back to like November, December area,

0:45.4

my FTP was about 282 watts. But once I started training in earnest, my FTP was at 289 watts.

0:53.1

And in the first month of training, I went from 289 watts up to 299 watts. And in the first month of training,

0:54.5

I went from 289 watts up to 299 watts.

0:57.7

And then now, today, I'm at 306 watts,

1:00.3

which the countdown that we're going for,

1:02.6

if I can get to 320 watts for my FTP,

1:05.9

then in terms of power,

1:07.4

that's where I should be,

1:09.5

or I should say a sub seven is possible if I get to that point. And maybe even less than possible, but a bit more likely, which would be great to do. Now, that's a huge bar for me to reach for 320, and I'm not sure I'll be able to do it, but I'm trying my best to get there. Now, on the other side of things, Leadville has huge, massive, hard climb, so we also have to pay attention to the weight.

1:29.8

Coming into this, actually, again, back in like November or December, I was almost 100, I was at 160 pounds.

1:35.8

But by the time I got to training in earnest, which was right when January hit, that's when I was right around 156 pounds.

1:47.5

And then from there, I lost two pounds in the first month. And then another two pounds. So I went from 156 to 154 and I'm now 152 pounds.

1:54.0

My body fat percentage now is around 12% instead of where it was originally was up at 14%. So it's trickling down little by little. Now, I want to share what I'm doing with my training in order to make this happen. I'm going to be sharing my calendar, as you can see on screen, within Trainor Road and show you what it looks like. I'll also be showing you within this whole thing, or kind of going off some notes. So if you see me looking around, that's what I'm doing just to make sure I don't mess up any details so to recap to go sub
