Welcome to the happiness podcast. I'm Dr. Robert Puff. Fear is such a powerful emotion. It does have the ability to keep us safe. But I think for many

of us, fear has that ability to keep us paralyzed and keeps us from living well and to our fullest

extent. When our fears get out of control, which they can end very quickly. They have the ability to paralyze us and

keeping us from living our lives well. We're here to learn about how to live our lives well on the Happiness Podcast.

And if we don't face our fears and really deal with them well and keep them in their proper place, then they can keep us from

finding the joy and peace in life that we can all have.

In 1991, a movie came out called Defending Your Life. The main characters in the movie were

played by Albert Brooks and Merrill Street. If you've never seen this movie, I would highly recommend it.

Because the main premise of this movie is about fear.

It's about the afterlife, the place we go when we die,

and Julia and Daniel, in the movie, are defending their life.

But they're defending their life based upon the fears they had to face in their life and whether they face and overcame their fears,

and if they did, then they get to move on, and if they didn't, they returned to Earth to try again. The movie's funny, enjoyable, but it also has a great truth.

In life, we are faced with fears. The question is, how do we handle them?

And there really are two choices, because we all have fears.

Do we face our fears and overcome them? Or do we run from our fears, hide, and let our fears

control us, or with time truly destroy the love and passion that we have for life.
