The thing I want to talk about today is something that is a somewhat counterintuitive and tricky aspect of our own self-awareness, the way that we value it based upon how our emotions and our outlook is

0:29.2

situated at any given time.

0:32.4

So to break down a little bit what that means is you all of us have this feeling

0:40.6

about are we doing good are we thriving are we succeeding are we progressing do people like us? Do we like people?

0:54.0

Those feelings are always top of mind in this way.

1:00.0

And not in a literal way. We're not going down a checklist thinking of all those things and marking them off on a daily

1:07.7

basis, but they create a culmination of self-image that we carry around with us. And that self-image

1:21.0

shifts our mindset.

1:24.8

Because how we're feeling about ourselves

1:28.2

and our future in the world influences

1:31.4

how we see the world.

1:34.8

And that in turn influences or can reinforce

1:39.6

how we see ourselves.

1:41.5

Can create kind of a feedback loop of positivity or

1:45.0

negativity or neutrality, whatever it may be. And so one of the things that we have to watch out for and this is, again, one of those kind of

1:57.2

slippery ones is that if you think about how you feel about yourself at any given time,

2:06.8

and if you're feeling good, you feel energized, you have confidence, you have a greater sense of clarity, and most importantly

2:17.8

you have a sense of self-belief, right? So you're able to approach everything that you're doing in life, all of your relationships,

2:26.9

your professional things, your self-care and inner work, you're able to approach all of that

2:31.9

with a kind of optimism and power because your mindset

2:38.2

is situated in such that you feel, yes, I have this value I can do this it is worth it for me to continue developing all

2:51.6

these different areas in my life that are meaningful to me.
