Summary

Al Madrigal took me into his home office to discuss the joys of fatherhood. Becoming a parent has long been one of my greatest fears, so it was nice to talk to someone who didn't share my concerns at all. As long as I've known Al he's been a father. And he's cool enough and honest enough to talk to me about what that means to him.

0:27.0	I invited one of my friends over, Mr. Al Madrigal, who as long as I've known, I've probably known him for like eight or nine years.
0:34.0	But as long as I've known him, he's been a dad. That's the only way I've ever known him.
0:40.0	And he's one of the funniest comics in America. He really is. He works as hard or harder than any other comics I know.
0:47.0	What he does. He's really amazing. Great storyteller and just a great comic.
0:54.0	But yeah, so we got into it for a while.
0:57.0	Pairhood in general is always something that I thought I would do, but in the last few years, it's only filled me with fear.
1:04.0	Like the idea of having a kid is just so frightening to me right now, because I'm so irresponsible that I just I cannot imagine having to raise one.
1:15.0	Just the work alone and how much you can mess up a human's life.
1:20.0	It's just so much fucking work. I can't commit to a woman right now.
1:26.0	The idea that I'm going to commit to a fucking child.
1:31.0	I just cannot imagine it. I don't know how people do it. I don't know if they'll have a baby and just be like, yeah, that'll be cool.
1:37.0	I'll just raise it. I'll just raise this fucking kid.
1:40.0	A plant is hard work. Anything but a cactus is difficult work.
1:46.0	Anyway, so that's what I'm going to discuss. I do have this coming Friday.
1:53.0	This is out on Monday, the something, the six or seven on Friday, the 11th.
1:58.0	I'm going to be headlining in Los Angeles at the improv on Melrose Boulevard or Melrose Avenue, probably Boulevard at eight o'clock.
2:07.0	Friday night, November 11th. It's one of the few chances you'll get in Los Angeles.
2:12.0	Los Angeles has seen me do like a longer set. Normally, it's like 10, 15 minutes here.
2:19.0	But yeah, I'm headlining there. So please come out. It should be a fun show.
