So when I was little, I remember watching shows like Goosebumps and Twin Peaks, you know,

creepy shows about seemingly normal towns.

My personal favorite was, are you afraid of the dark?

Oh, that was such a good show.

Stop it. So to be special, we tell our own creepy stories.

And I remember hearing that our town was actually the site of a lot of murders that led to the introduction of

Tamper Safe Seals. Yeah when you told me that I thought it was an urban legend

until I read more about it. I totally wouldn't believe me either. So I checked it out on

Wikipedia and where else. And I found an old news article that tells the

story of the martyr of seven people in Chicago from Tylenol laced with cyanide and

they never did actually find the culprit but suspects range from an extortionist in New York City to

apparently even the Unabomber. So of course that crazy story made national

headlines and in response Congress passed a federal law requiring all over-the-counter

medications to have tamper-proof seals.

But this wasn't just some random over-the-counter medication.

It was Tylenol, the number one selling medication in the US at the time.

And even decades later, it's still our go-to medication for a fever when you're in the hospital.

Or when you're stuck home with the flu.
