Folks, it's custom rifle building season.

I'm getting a ton of questions currently from listeners about how to choose between this

or that cartridge, or what type of action to use.

And how to pick a stock, and a barrel length, and a rifling twist rate,

on between a hinged floor plate or a detachable box magazine.

Clearly, a lot of folks are busy upgrading or replacing their hunting rifle prior to this year's

hunting seasons.

As a result, we're going to do an informal series of podcasts on upgrading and building hunting rifles.

This will include everything from cartridge slugfests, where we pick good options against one

another, to debates on the reliability merits of controlled feed actions

opposed to the accuracy advantages of push feed designs and everything in between.

Later after we've unpacked all that, we'll wrap up the series with a fresh look at

setting up and tuning a long-range hunting rifle.
