We are an addictive species. Have you noticed? One of my greatest addictions in life is to email. It is my

kryptonite. Nothing else owns me like email. No food, no drink, no physical urge, nothing. Not like email. I don't know. It's just weird. There is something about needing to have to have everything cleared out before I feel mentally and

spiritually free to go head down and do my vital work.

And when I hit a cognitive wall while doing my vital work, man oh man, the songs of my siren, my email. my Check me. Come on, I'm over here, ready and waiting for you. Like I said, it's weird.

I have all sorts of hacks and tricks and tactics that I have to protect myself from this seductive

trickster. I'll share some of those as we

progress through the year. But for now let's just focus on something that you can do

to help everybody else out with their email addictions because it's destroying the lives and potential futures of those

around you. Here's the first thing that you can do. Send less email. Can you please just batch up your list of questions, updates, and FYIs, and A,

bring them to the next meeting?

B, pick up the phone and make a call.

We can solve 10 items in three minutes

with no pecking on the keyboard required and skipping the long volley of back and forth

to get to the same point.

C aggregate all your questions in one email not 10. Oh and you better have

googled your own questions before asking me. Don't make anybody else your

Alexa or Siri or Wikipedia or Google Guy or Gao.

Number two is, send less frequently.
