updating each other on our lives, which obviously meant that we were also talking

about work. Now, I've known these people literally for decades and we're so used to hearing about each other's jobs and successes sometimes to the point of normalizing it.

But afterwards I reflected on the level of privilege at that dinner.

It forced me to think about the things I take for granted in my professional life, things

like status and salary and access,

consider how I can spread the wealth.

So what are some of the concrete steps

we can take to notice our privilege

and extend it to others beyond dinner tables like the one I found myself at.
