U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blakenkin said the U.S. is working closely with Israel to ensure any response to

Iran's missile attack earlier this month, quote, doesn't lead to an endless cycle of escalation.

He's in Qatar today after meetings in Israel this week.

Further attacks against Israel will have deeply negative consequences for Iran's

interests. We're very attentive to the fact that the risk of broader conflict is high and that's all the

more reason why we're determined and acting to try to make sure that we prevent that.

A person familiar with the discussion said top Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu,

have assured the U.S. that a counter-strike on Iran will be limited to military targets rather than oil or nuclear facilities.

Another source tells CNN a meeting is expected this weekend in Qatar

to restart the talks over a possible hostage and ceasefire deal in Gaza.

The source said Qatar's prime minister is expected to host the meeting with CIA Director

Bill Burns and Masad Director David Barnia.

Vice President Kamala Harris is closing out her campaign week with some serious

star power. Former President Barack Obama and rock legend Bruce Springsteen

will join her today for a rally in Georgia and a source says

Beyoncé will appear alongside Harris at a rally tomorrow in Texas. Harris hopes to

repeat President Joe Biden's victory in Georgia after he became the first Democrat to carry it in nearly 30 years.

Former President Donald Trump is heading to Arizona and Nevada for a pair of events.

The visits come as a trio of new surveys from Marist College show close races in Georgia, Arizona, and North Carolina.

A separate survey out of Pennsylvania from Franklin and Marshall College also shows no clear leader between Trump and
