February 7th. Senate Republicans are expected to tank a bipartisan border deal and foreign aid package in a key vote today.

The $118 billion measure includes foreign aid for key allies, including Ukraine and Israel,

and has been opposed by former President Donald Trump and top House Republicans.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer says the chamber will vote on two versions of the bill,

one with border provisions and one without them.

On Tuesday, the House failed to pass a Republican-led

standalone aid package for Israel. During a news conference today, House Speaker

Mike Johnson called the setback quote shameful. There is no reason whatsoever for them to object to the contents of that bill.

They're doing it for political purposes.

It's bad for national security.

It's also terrible policy and terrible politics.
