Today I am back with a new quick and short episode

looking at the German language.

This year, the summer and actually spring as well, have been uncharacteristically nice in Scotland.

And I feel that with this much sun and shine and blue in the himmel,

we need to have at least one episode that looks at weather expressions.

In every language, people have unique ways of describing the weather

or using weather terms like hais or sonny or cult in lots of different expressions.

And German is no exception here.

So today, to honor this beautiful Scottish summer,

let's learn some German expressions related

to the heat and to the sun.

Our first reedewendom, our first frieze or idiom, features the word hei's, meaning hot.

And it is is a dropfen

on the heisen

stein.
