Now authorities arrested 20 year old Joshua Alexander Hecathorne.

He's a resident of Garden, Oregon.

They arrested him a day after the chemicals were dumped into one of the hatchery ponds.

So he told the cops, well he had visited a storage area the day before and then

picked up a bottle of bleach. That's the entire explanation. Anyway he was

arrested and booked into the Douglas County Jail on Tuesday for second-degree burglary, criminal

trespassing criminal mischief. Now the maximum penalty for poaching Chinook

salmon, it's a species that is protected under the Endangered Species Act is

$750. Per fish. So officials assess the fines for every salmon killed. He can

be asked to pay nearly $14 million.
