Summary
In this final bit of Tokyo coverage, Des catches up with Kara's alter ego (Carol?) to talk about Tokyo recovery and recap the last night of action at the World Champs. Carol is a dead ringer for Kara with a much raspier voice and a deep, deep love of karaoke (no mic needed).
They intro by talking about their return trips from Japan, overcoming jet lag, and trying to avoid getting sick along the way. Kara may not have been so successful there. Then, they did into the final night of track action including recaps of the W800m and M5000m, where Kara's predictions came true and Cole Hocker got his much deserved redemption from the 1500m DQ.
Plus, they talk about other fun/exciting moments from the entire meet, and Kara reveals the secret karoake star hiding within the NBC team. We know the World Champs are over, but let's soak it in one last time with these two!

| 0:00.0 | Hey, what's up everybody? It's nobody asked us with Des and Kara presented by Brooks Running. |
| 0:16.0 | Wait, let me try that again. Nobody asked us with Desing Kara presented by Brooks running. Des, how are you? |
| 0:22.9 | It sounds painful. It sounds like like knives on the throat and the vocal cord. I'm good. |
| 0:29.5 | Let's just dig right in. Is this karaoke voice or is this? What's what happened here? |
| 0:35.5 | Okay. Well, truthfully, yes, a week ago. Introduce yourself because I think people are probably like, who's, who's the guest host? My name is Kara. I'm Desa's sidekick. So last week we were going to record and we decided to wait. And I was like, oh, it's probably good because my voice, I lost my voice basically doing karaoke. I mean, I was so obnoxious. And we can get into that |
| 0:55.6 | if you want. But like, I didn't even need a microphone. Everyone was like, good God, goucher. |
| 1:00.3 | Shut her down. But I think I've been like fighting something since I've been back. In like Saturday, |
| 1:08.4 | I was like, oh, I finally feel better. I'm not going to get sick. And then Saturday night, we went to the C.U football game and got home late. And then, like, it was really loud because we were literally on the field. Like, seats were amazing. Yeah. And then I got up super early. I slept only a few hours and got up early to go to Boulderathon. And then I was like, you know, revving the crowd up. And then I got home and I was like, no, I'm sick. It's official. Too cute. I'm actually really tired and do not feel well. So yeah, that's the voice now. It's not from karaoke anymore. All right. So it's been a whirlwind for the vocals. Yeah, it's a good thing. I'm not a singer. |
| 1:44.3 | Oh, goodness. |
| 1:44.9 | This is after the announcing in Tokyo. |
| 1:49.3 | Yeah, that was so bad. |
| 1:51.1 | Never take me to karaoke before a meet. |
| 1:54.7 | For sure. |
| 1:55.4 | What's the protocol for that? |
| 1:56.7 | Do you know if you showed up to an NBC call and you're like, hi, guys. |
| 2:04.1 | I feel the under the weather. |
| 2:16.9 | I don't think that I could call race like this. Because especially if I get like excited or something, I mean, but the thing, the complaints people get is they can say I'm like annoying and I sound shrill. This would like definitely be annoying. I hate that. |
| 2:19.3 | I actually feel like any woman who does a broadcast that gets excited is like, you sound shrill. |
| 2:23.9 | Oh, I know. It's like such a sexist comment. It's just like. Being excited and it's just like, |
| 2:28.4 | do the same job as the men. But you know, whatever. But anyway, yeah. |
| 2:34.4 | So. |
| 2:37.6 | So what would they do? |
