Teacher of the year finalists gets 14 years for sexual relationship with student after she kept contacting him.

Tara Johnson Swartz, 45-year-old writer and former STEM school teacher

in Colorado, 2025 state teacher the year finalist was sent into 14 years in prison. The former

teacher was accused of having a sexual relation with a 16-year-old, which was discovered in January

2025, according to her parents who saw the text messages, Schwartz.

Johnson Swartz, who had been recognized in one of the seven finals for Colorado's teacher of the year,

after they probed her.

Documents show the relationship started with texting, but quickly escalated when Johnson Swartz

gave the students, gave the student cigarettes, letting him use her marijuana vape pen,

and eventually engaging in a sexual relationship.

Well, they busted her, and less of a month later, the involved student was seen on camera,

leaving campus and getting into her car again.

The team reportedly admitted to investigators, former teacher, picked him up, and they driven up to a nearby neighborhood. Well, they probably just banged. So, re-contacting him when she told him not to contact him is probably the reason she got 14 years. Because you don't really see these 14-year clips. It's a long time. They don't.
