I mentioned earlier that nobody knows what yawning is about.

This is a thread about this is medical stuff that nobody knows why it even happens and why it even exists.

But the one that scared me was here.

I was in a hospital once.

It says, I was asked to be i was

about to be put under sedation under sedation i asked casually asked how anesthesia works and the anesthesia

replied we don't know that's not the answer you want to hear so when i get home nobody does when i got

home i did some research and it's true. We don't know why it works. Now, the weird part about this is I said, I'm an anesthesiologist. We know how patients react to it. We know how to dose and monitor it, but we don't know how it works. Which is crazy that that even exists.

So somebody had to try it, I mean, chloroform back in the day probably, but that was probably,

you know, when they probably did with Civil War people to pass. I think they used ether too.

Right, ether.

But how would they know that, oh, I was thinking about when you, you know, kidnapped people?

How would they know to do it and then know they're going to wake up? It's all trial and air. I know. Obviously people die. Yeah, there needs a lot of people on the way. They probably need a lot of people. They just look at the dead guy and go, give him less next time. But the anesthesiologists make, you know, three to six hundred grand a year. They make a lot of money, man.

So they don't know how it works. It's like, well, thanks for that. That's an important job. It's a very important job. Well, they went to school for eight years and they still don't know. I know. How it works. I didn't find it amazing that if you have red hair, it just throws them in for a loop because it's really hard to anesthetize.
