Yesterday I noted that a fellow reported to me that he heard there was going to be St. Patrick's

Day festivities Sunday along 7th Street in downtown St. Paul and he went and discovered

nothing.

And I now have a note from our own geologist Stacy who said I was on 7th Street Saturday.

It was the closest I've seen to normal downtown in a year.

It was wonderful.

People in the streets, McGoverns had a tent in the back.

Truck Park was open.

People sitting outside a party bus parked on a side street.

Also the restaurant shut down at 5 p.m. on St. Patrick's Day last year, not the weekend

before.
