In a world where we tolerate all kinds of lying and cheating,

it's good to see one of the last bastions of not tolerating that sort of crap is a bass tournament.

An angler was arrested during a bass tournament of Texas on Sunday charged with violating fishing tournament rules.

Through weights down the throat.

Yep.

Fishers with the Texas Park and Wildlife Department said they arrested. Curtis Lee Daniels, the worst person on earth. Curtis Lee, of course. Finding multiple weights inside a bass he'd caught during the competition. You can't do that. You can't do that here. It's illegal.

Yeah. Because the tournament was offering a cash prize of $10,000 or more.

The charge is a third-degree felony, and he was released Monday.

A felony?

On a $20,000 bond.

Yeah, they take their fishing seriously there.

So is it because he's, like, defrauding a cash prize thing?

It can't just be like illegal to weigh down your fish, right? But it's got to be. He took the money. Well, here's the official statement that the Texas Park and Wildlife Division gave outdoor life.

They were contacted by tournament organizers on Sunday to investigate a bass that he had brought

into the way-in tournament staff flagged the bass after using a metal detecting wand.

They catch them every time with the metal detecting wand.

Yeah, the fish that alerted them to potential presence of a foreign object.

That could raise concerns that he tampered with the fish.

That guy was sweat when he pulled out that wand, too.

And indeed, he was tampering with the fish.
