The past two and possibly three years,

the Republican Party and the conservative movement in this country

has concentrated all of his energies into creating a bogeyman out of the word woke which in its normal context and usage is directly derived from African American

vernacular.

It is an example of white Americans not only co-opting a phrase or an idea or a concept but then using

it to create critical mass, using it to create a chimera, a boogie man, and to move their audiences and

their supporters into political action.

Republicans have invested heavily in the idea that to be quote-unquote woke

is to somehow be a villain to be a problem, something that has to be taken care of.
