Hey, welcome back to the morning mindset. This is Carrie Green. I am so thankful that you're here.

It is time for you and me to get our minds aligned with the truth of God.

We've been doing that by looking at 2 Peter, chapter 1, and we are down to verses 10 and 11

where the apostle Peter has just finished walking us through a list of qualities.

Yesterday's episode I read through those qualities again, I want you to do so on your own

today at some point, and then we're going to go right now into

versus 10 and 11 because there are some things here that are pretty important.

And we're going to dive in to 2 Peter Chapter 1

verse number 10 where Peter is telling us that we need to be diligent to

confirm our calling an election because if we practice these qualities that she just

told us, we will never fall.

Verse 11, he says, for in this way, there will be richly provided for you an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and

Savior Jesus Christ.

Now I remember as a kid reading this verse, I grew up in a Baptist church and you know my mom would get us involved in these Bible reading contests in the Sunday school class and a youth group and things like that and I remember reading this verse and feeling like it kind of went against much of what I had already been taught.

Because I had been taught that you do not receive salvation by works, but that you receive salvation by grace through faith.

And if you look through the New Testament, that last statement is entirely true.

Ephesions 2-8 and 9 says we are saved by grace through faith not of works so that none of us

can boast before God and say look what I did. And so verse 11 is a little bit tricky.
