It's a great book of the Bible.

We tend to go through books of the Bible,

because I love you, and I love helping you learn God's word.

Here's where we find ourselves.

He wrote First Peter, the church was under some real opposition,

hostility in the culture.

He writes Second Peter knowing that things are getting worse. A bad

government was coming into power. There was an economic collapse and disaster.

There was rioting in the streets. There was lots of racial discord.

I know this has nothing to do with your life,

but that's what they were dealing with

in the days of Peter in the Roman Empire

and he writes second Peter,

and it's his final farewell address to the family.

And so it to me it's such a significant part of scripture because Peter has lived an incredible life.

If you know anything of his story he met Jesus as a younger man was

hand selected by Christ to spend three years being personally mentored and trained as a

close friend of Jesus he He betrayed Jesus, denied Jesus at the moment that Jesus needed him the most.
