The Secretary of Defense says the Pentagon will do all they can to keep things on course

and the transfer from the Biden to the Trump administration.

Secretary Austin says he will rely on the generals he has in place to ensure the changeover from the Biden to the

Trump administration is as seamless as possible. Among the goals to accomplish, acquiring the right

capabilities, developing the right policies and procedures and tactics, and strengthening the

alliances and partnerships that we need to be successful. Secretary Austin said he

trusts the military's leaders to make the right choices. Fox says Colonel Scott. President Biden says

he will ensure the transfer is peaceful. And during a speech to the nation Thursday, he praised

Vice President Harris. She's been a partner and a public servant.

She ran an inspiring campaign and everyone got to see something that I learned early on to

respect so much, her character.

President-elect Trump starts the transition by announcing his White House chief of staff.

Susie Wiles will be the first woman in U.S. history to serve in that role.

Democratic California Governor Gavin Newsom calls for a special legislative session to, as Democrats

put it, Trump-proof state laws. Governor Newsom says this special session will focus on bolster

in California's legal resources in the face of a Trump presidency.

He said, quote, the freedoms we hold dear in California are under attack and we won't sit idle.

Fox says Christina Coleman. President elect Trump often depicts California as representing all the
