Hey you guys and welcome back to the podcast. Before we get started with our topic today, all about

0:05.6

greenhouse gardening in the spring, I wanted to make sure that you know about something that's coming

0:10.5

up and this is especially applicable to you if you are a beginning gardener. I've been receiving a lot of

0:16.8

emails and messages through Instagram from many of you all who are maybe starting a garden

0:22.4

for the first time or you really just consider yourself a newbie when it comes to gardening

0:27.2

and you're wanting to know how to get started. Well starting this week I'm going to be doing

0:33.2

a live four session class called Plant Start four Four Steps to Beginning Your Garden this year.

0:41.1

We're going to be talking about how to choose your garden space, whether you're going to grow

0:45.1

in raised beds, containers, or a ground bed, or maybe you're not sure, and you need some guidance

0:49.7

on how to decide that. We'll also talk about your season. We'll talk about cool season crops,

0:55.0

warm season crops, hot crops, and how to know when to plant what. We'll talk about how to know

1:01.2

your climate, the difference between perennial plants and annual plants and how that matters when

1:06.4

you're going to plant. We'll discuss seeds and transplants. Which crops do you need to plant from seed directly

1:12.6

in your garden? Which ones do you need to either buy transplants from the garden center or if you

1:17.6

want to start indoors? How do you go about doing that? And then how many plants do you need?

1:23.2

Finally, we're going to talk about how to be successful in your garden this year with some

1:28.9

quick tips and also some encouragement that this is a journey and this is what you can be

1:34.3

expecting for your first season. All of this is going to be, as I said, in four live classes,

1:41.1

they're going to go from this Thursday, March 16th,

1:46.4

through Monday, March 27th.

1:49.2

These will be on Thursdays and Mondays.

1:51.2

And even if you can't attend live,
