0:20.2	Welcome back to day three in our study of Galatians chapter two. We're going to look at verses 6
0:24.4	through 10. And what we're looking at is honor and submission. In verses 6 says,
0:31.4	And from those who seemed to be influential, what they are makes no difference to me. God
0:36.5	shows no partiality. Those I say who
0:39.2	seemed influential added nothing to me. On the contrary, when they saw that I had been entrusted
0:45.3	with the gospel to the uncircumcised, just as Peter had been entrusted with the gospel to the circumcise,
0:51.7	for he who worked through Peter, for his apostolic ministry to the circumcised,
0:56.9	worked also through me for mine to the Gentiles. And when James and Seifis and John,
1:02.7	who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given to me, they gave the right hand
1:07.7	of fellowship to Barnabas and me that we should go to the Gentiles
1:11.6	and they to the circumcise. Only they ask us to remember the poor the very thing I was eager to do.
1:17.2	All right. In the world that God created, there are different spheres of authority and responsibility.
1:23.9	There is home, church, work, and government. And a part of the way that God works is that God always
1:30.9	works in and through authority. And so you can even see here that even though Paul knows that God
1:36.9	shows no partiality, he also recognized that God had appointed and given certain responsibilities
1:43.8	to certain people, primarily Peter, James, and John,
1:47.7	and he gives these people this place of authority, and then Paul decided to willfully and humbly
1:54.2	submit himself to them. He honored them by showing up to the Jerusalem Council. He honored them
2:00.2	by laying this gospel that he had been preaching before them.
2:03.6	And he was not looking for their validation, but he was trusting God and trusting the authority
2:09.2	that God put over him.
