And for this episode, we have a very special guest, Jay Africa. I know, Neil, that recently you spent a lot of time on a boat with him. Do you want to talk about that? I did. Jay is one of the people that is on the D20 cruise. As always, definitely go look that up. Make that a thing that is just wildly successful. It's just, it's a cruise and there's D&D or there's D&D

and there's a cruise. It's whatever mix of that that you wanted to be, but he was a DM last year

and a DM this year. And with how active that event is, I felt really bad that I didn't get to

know him better in year one, but I got to sit down, share some meals, spend some time with him.

And lo and behold, he's awesome.

So I said, Dear Jay, please come onto our podcast.

Yeah, and he came with some really fun topic ideas.

The one that we latched onto was narrative forward play.

Jay has a real passion for making games narratively interesting.

And so we're going to dive a bunch into that as we get into the episode proper.

And he definitely touches on a bunch of different games.

So you can tell the breadth of knowledge that he brings to the conversation to say,

hey, I've kind of tried everything.

This is where I'm at with narrative forward gameplay, especially picking pieces and parts

from all sorts of different systems to try and push both, like, D&D, his love, further

into that narrative.
