I know I've worked for this and this is everything I've ever wanted since I was a little kid.

So it's nothing new to me. It's just what I do, honestly.

It's bigger than softball.

So I, every single thing that I've experienced this year I'm just really grateful for.

And I think it's really made me become a better player and a better person. And I wouldn't change anything.

Freshman Phenom Ella McDowell came to Arkansas as the number one infielder in her class.

But what she found was more than a roster spot. She found a family.

It's weird. Like I can't even describe it. I mean, every person on the team I have such a different and unique relationship with and

I wouldn't trade it for the world. I mean, these girls, they're my sisters.

But that doesn't mean it's always been easy, adjusting to a new position, a new pace, and a new pressure.

All part of the challenge. I came here and I found my way over to third

base and it's definitely an adjustment. It's definitely a wake-up call because that ball is getting

screamed at you, but I'm off for the challenge. And when things got tough, she didn't have to

look far for support or inspiration. Her tight-knit friendships within the team keep her going.

Bree, obviously, she's such a big role model for me.

I used to hear stories all the time when I was little like,

oh, Brie Ellis is, Brie Ellis sat.

So just watching her have the year that she's having now,

like, I already knew it was going to happen. She's so good.

A freshman with confidence, talent, a deep love for the game, and for the people who play it with her.
