| 0:00.0 | Hello everyone and welcome to Books Unbound, the podcast where we Unbind books to get to their hearts with your hosts us. It's Ariel and Raylene. Yola. Yola! We just chatted for like 20 minutes before hitting record and it was pretty nice. It was pretty nice. And then I, and then we were like, wait, we still have to record the episode. Yeah, we have not even started yet, but we didn't even record. We're feeling jolly. It's all good. Yeah. Yeah. So how's your week been, Rayleigh? And pretty low key, pretty chill. |
| 0:39.8 | Very low key. Well, as you and the people will remember last week, we TBR challenged ourselves to each finish two books. And I really took that to heart. I didn't want to be embarrassed. Like I, I really, first of all, like, I really wanted to finish the books that I finished. |
| 0:55.1 | So I'm really, like, happy that I did. And I, like, would have been really disappointed in myself if I hadn't. So it was like, it was a little bit of I don't want to be embarrassed. I don't want to, like, have nothing to talk about. But also, like, I really just want this for me. Like, I just need to feel this satisfaction. And those are the best kinds of goals, the one where internally you actually do care about it implicitly. |
| 1:15.6 | Exactly. |
| 1:16.4 | Exactly. |
| 1:16.6 | So I feel really good about that. |
| 1:19.6 | I mean, the weather's been really nice. |
| 1:21.3 | So we've been going out for walks. |
| 1:23.0 | And we actually went for our first ever night walk the other day. |
| 1:26.4 | We just haven't done that for some reason. And I was |
| 1:28.7 | like, wait, it's like a nice kind of summerish feeling day. We've never walked these streets at |
| 1:33.9 | night. And so we went and Kyle saw a coyote. Oh my God. Yeah, I couldn't see him because I have |
| 1:39.6 | very bad visibility in the dark. But Kyle was like, whoa, there was a coyote over there. And I was like, okay. That's cool. Do you not scared? Do you have bad visibility even when you have your glasses on? Or did you just not have your glasses? Oh, no. I had my glasses on, but when it's dark, like, I can't see anything. Oh, fascinating. Is that an astigmatism situation? Maybe. I don't know. It's funny. I've noticed this many times where I'm like, yeah, there's a difference between like, yeah, I, things are blurry, you know, for me if I don't my glasses on, but even with my glasses on, my vision is sort of bad. Like, if it's, if it's dark, I, it's not great. It's not great. There's an optometrist listening to this who's like, There's a reason for this. He was like, that's not good. Like, I can't. |
| 2:01.6 | I adjust eventually, but if it's like, there's a reason for this. Who's like, that's not good. |
| 2:19.2 | Like, I can't. |
| 2:17.2 | I just eventually, but if it's like pitch black outside, I'm just like, well, if we're talking about something that's in the field, like a little ways away, I'm not going to see it. That's interesting. I don't have the, I do have, I also have a stigmatism. and I was saying this to the last time I got my eyes checked, |
| 2:42.0 | which was like a year ago, I was like, I'm a little annoyed because I feel like I always wear my glasses. But I can quote unquote see clothes. |
| 2:45.0 | Oh, so can I. |
| 2:46.0 | Thing, yeah, exactly. |
| 2:48.0 | I'm like things far away, if I don don't want my glasses on if i don't have |
| 2:52.1 | assistance things far away are blurry i can't see them so i definitely need to have my glasses on to |
| 2:57.2 | watch a movie to drive to see signs whatever i'm like but like things close i can see them so i've |
