Today we're going to be taking a look at the very brutal case of Dan and Ron Lafferty.

A pair of brothers who were once devout Mormons who decided that wasn't for them.

And so they splinter off and form their own version of a religion called

School of Prophets. And these two are just straight evil. All of their newfound religion

culminates in two very brutal murders. And so we're going to take a look at their descent into darkness and why on earth

they felt like it was a divine calling to brutally murder two innocent individuals.

To fully understand why Ron and Dan Lafferty did what they did, we have to go back to the very

beginning of their lives.

Ron and Dan Lafferty were raised alongside four brothers and two sisters on a quaint

four-acre farm just outside of Salem, Utah.

Their father, Watson Lafferty Sr., worked as a barber on an aircraft carrier during World

War II before pursuing an education in chiropractic research.

After training, their father opened his own business, which included both a chiropractic practice

and a barbershop, which he operated from the spare room in their home.

Dan described his father as being strong-willed and highly individualistic, rigid in his ways.
