Summary

Well, it was going to be a pandemic to make me up my output. In the first lockdown episode, we look at the immediate impact of recent measures, from the serious political dimensions to getting elbowed by pensioners in Iceland. We also have a lot of letters, including one from Phil which is frankly diabolical.

In those old crying things, where did you get the tip-off from, like Huggy Bear?

But how are you doing?

How are you doing?

Look, people who've been listening to this podcast a while would have known already that it was going to take a pandemic for me to do any more than one every two weeks. But I am going to up that ratio to one every week, maybe two a week. But, you know, this is going to be going to be going on for a while. I'm not going to have new jokes every week about this. There'll come a point where we're just going to have to buckle in. But we have got a lot of letters this week and I think the letters would be a good thing, particularly for people who are isolated and stuff to stay in. Like I'm doing any sort of public service thing there. Yeah, I'm doing this for Britain. I'm doing this, right? I'm the comic that can be honest to you, Britain, right?

1:31.1

I'm doing this because I can up the numbers, right? I enjoy doing it and I can maybe get a bit of

1:35.8

advertising revenue. Is that so wrong to admit that? I'm the comic that can say that. So if you've

1:42.7

listened to it for a while, you'll know that up to

1:45.3

this point, the podcast has very much been about coming from the, you know, the non-woke end of

1:51.5

comedy. It's been about culture wars, free speech, Brexit, and stuff like that. And obviously, well,

1:56.9

you know, while I'm still exercised by these things, I think that it doesn't feel as important

2:01.9

at the moment. So for now, you know, the podcast, what most people think lockdown edition,

2:07.8

everything sounds better when you're throwing the word log debt, is it's now going to be on like

2:12.6

a wartime footing, you know, and my job is that, you know, you'll see a lot of criticism
