0:23.6

Shatskins joins us to discuss Philo T. Farnsworth, the boy who invented television and we're going to

0:30.1

discuss the mystery of Thomas Townsend Brown. I'm Benjamin Grungey, joining me is Aaron Wright.

What a fantastic chat we have with Paul, a really switched on guy, you know, knows exactly what he's

0:41.3

talking about, lots of connections and really revealing this hidden history. There's not well known

0:47.9

on so glad we got to talk to him because back on this season, episode number 12, it was Doc Brown

0:54.4

and the Ghost Moose. That's right. Where we covered this incredible story that Paul Shatskins

0:58.4

had been researching for decades about Thomas Townsend Brown. He is very exotic, scientific research

1:07.1

that eventually made its way into the Navy, then potentially into other groups. There were these

1:13.1

suggestions of artificial gravity, of secret societies, of espionage. It was such a fantastic story

1:20.9

winded up covering it over two parts. What we perhaps didn't know at the time is that Paul wrote

1:27.7

an earlier book about a similar individual, a similar genius from history who was little known

1:34.9

and that's Philo T. Farnsworth. It was funny like that episode was called The Ghost Moose. I actually

1:41.5

saw that Paul heard our first episode and he wrote an article on his website about the Ghost Moose.

1:48.0

Well, it's in CorrigibleArts.com and one of the things he wrote was that he got bumped by the Ghost Moose

1:53.4

story because I think you went first on that episode and it was the bloody Ghost Moose story. Hey,

2:01.7

Paul's fantastic, but nothing beats the Ghost Moose, all right? It pretty much sums off our show,

2:07.6

but we had to have him on to talk about our Philo T. Farnsworth because Farnsworth, many of you may

2:14.2

not know the name, but he is the inventor of television. He's an astonishing historical figure.

2:20.0

There's this incredible story behind it and it's a very nerdy show. It's quite a long interview.

2:26.4

Lots of detail in there, some technical information as well. But I want you to listen through to

2:32.0

the whole thing because we get about 40, 45 minutes in when the whole thing opens up because
