Genesis chapter 38, verse 24.

About three months later, Judah was told,

Tamar, your daughter-in-law has been immoral.

Moreover, she is pregnant by immorality.

Genesis chapter 38 is a picture of the horror of sin and its effects.

It's a very hard chapter to read in the Bible.

To summarize, Judah commits immorality with his daughter-in-law and tries to cover it up, pretends like

nothing has happened because he doesn't realize all the ramifications of what he has done.

In the end, it comes out what he has done.

And as I read this chapter, oh, there's so many things to reflect on.

But one that sticks out to me right now is that you and I cannot hide sin.

Like, sin is never secret.

We may think sin is secret.

I may think nobody knows what I'm doing here or there.

You may think nobody knows what you are thinking,

desiring, doing, but the reality is it's never secret.

Like our sin will always ultimately be exposed. Because we know first and foremost, God knows.

Like we can't hide anything from God. We are fools to think he doesn't know.

And we always think, well, okay, as long as nobody else knows, but, oh, what's most important is what God knows,

because he is our ultimate judge. Like what others think and how others might judge us last for a moment. How God

judges us will last for eternity. Like no sin is secret, which is why the Bible just beckons us to
