Today I've got Zalman New Field, writer of degrees of

separation, identity formation while leaving ultra-Orthodox Judaism.

Zalman is a fascinating person who grew up inside Hasidic Judaism.

I've done some episodes before, as you guys know, with Julia Hart and Heavy Weisberger, where they told about their horrific times growing up in Orthodox Judaism and

in Haredi Judaism or whatever the specific thing might be called and I've also

had some you know Frida Viseel came on and Sarah Brown who had more

mixed ideas about growing up in what I would classify an extreme authoritarian sect, but I think what

Zalman might call a tight-knit community, not exactly sure.

But we have a great chat about it.
