0:29.7	four spooky stories for you today and the last story comes from April the first 2023 and
0:36.3	story number one comes from D. It was late February and Sydney was in the middle of a week-long
0:43.5	sweltering heat wave. We lived too far out west to feel the relief of any sea breeze. Our house
0:50.7	was like sleeping in a bloody furnace. After cold showers and fanning the kids with cool damp
0:57.3	face cloths I finally got them off to sleep. My now ex-husband was also upstairs trying to get to
1:03.7	sleep and I had decided to sleep on the floor downstairs as it felt at least a degree cooler than
1:10.2	upstairs. We didn't have any air conditioning. In just my undies I eventually drifted off in an
1:17.1	item restless sleep waking periodically flipping my pillow over and over and shifting my body
1:22.7	to find a good spot sans body heat on the sheet I'd lay down on the carpet. Amidst my drowsy
1:30.0	exhaustion I heard a voice that puzzled me. It was familiar but I didn't immediately recognize
1:35.1	who it was. I laid still listening feeling tired and confused. D. You are having a beautiful
1:45.1	sleep now. You are nice and comfortable and cool. Lay still don't move D just keep sleeping.
1:54.0	It came to me when he quietly said once again, keep sleeping D. It was the voice of my late cousin

2:09.6	Lay still don't move just keep sleeping. His soothing voice was working. I began to relax even
2:16.4	though I knew it was still roasting hot and I was aware of sweat on my pillow. I felt so comforted
2:23.2	listening to his calming voice. Chris had passed about five years beforehand. We were very
2:29.5	close growing up. His family were my second family and his passing from cancer in his early 30s
2:35.3	was devastating for all of us. He hadn't visited me since passing and I was so surprised to
2:41.1	suddenly hear his voice. He kept repeating ever so calmly and hypnotically. Stay asleep D.
