Summary

Hello and welcome to episode 288 of The Mindful Kind podcast. In this episode, you'll learn about a helpful stress management technique called "Personal Thinking Time."

Not only do I enjoy using this technique myself, but I often recommend it to my clients, as well.

Here are some tips for implementing Personal Thinking Time:

  • Minimise distractions
  • Be open-minded. Some sessions might feel effortless and productive, while some might feel challenging or confronting
  • Save your "over-active" thoughts for Personal Thinking Time
  • Remember you can end your session whenever you want

benefit from it. So personal thinking time, what is it and how does it work? A few years ago when I was

1:08.9

studying my certificate in guiding and teaching meditation,

I came across the concept of personal thinking time.

1:16.4

It's a very simple idea.

1:18.5

1:30.8

with formal meditations, and to be honest, I still find them quite difficult because my mind

1:36.3

is just really active. I would sit down to do a meditation and within 10 seconds I'd be thinking

1:42.4

about something completely different.

1:45.1

Sometimes I'd ruminate over mistakes or start planning things out for the future.

1:49.9

Sometimes I'd start having these great ideas and powerful moments of clarity.
