Summary

Pure Desire is built on four foundational beliefs. The first (and most important) is Pure Desire is biblically based in all we do. Our entire approach to healing and freedom from unwanted sexual behavior and betrayal trauma is rooted in Scripture. In week 1 of our 4-week Foundations series, we explore what it means that Pure Desire is biblically based. We address the common pushback we get of not being "biblical enough," identify where the Bible discusses addictive patterns, how Scripture informs our approach to healing trauma, and much more.

0:50.3	Pure Desire is built on. We've talked about it in and around it, a lot of episodes,
0:55.2	but we're going to dedicate the next four weeks to the Pure Desire Foundations,
0:58.6	and the foundation of foundations is that we're biblically based. And today we had one of our
1:04.1	clinicians, Harry Flanagan, on to talk about this biblically based foundation we have.
1:08.3	Yeah, and just to put any of our listeners at ease who are worried,
1:11.6	like, oh, man, there's four weeks. They're just going to be talking about pure desire in the
1:14.8	ministry. I think you'll be surprised how little we actually talk about like pure desire. We're
1:19.8	really focusing on the foundations of healing that have made pure desire what it is. And so these
1:25.2	episodes really are for you, the listener, to be able to look at your
1:28.4	own story and say, you know, is my recovery really through the lens of scripture? Is in coming
1:33.3	weeks, am I utilizing the best of tools that I can to understand my journey and how are we as a
