Today I am with Josh Bosse to resume our re-examination of John 6 as Jesus continues to subvert the expectations of the people as the second Moses.

Yes, now we get to get into the meat of John 6.

No pun intended.

Ooh.

I'm just kidding that pun was entirely intentional.

But before we dive in just to recap from last time.

It's past over time.

The people are seeing Jesus do a lot of signs.

They're starting to think, you know, could this guy be our Moses?

We're ready to leave Egypt.

We're done with Rome.

And Jesus uses this moment as a kind of test,

the teaching moment for his disciples specifically Philip and or Philip specifically is who he's testing.

And he's basically asks him, can we really give these people the Passover, the Exodus that they're expecting?

And Philip answers, I think very well, which is I think why we don't see Jesus,

review him.

And he basically acknowledges that the people are zealous.

The people have an earnest, deep desire to follow Jesus, but there's a short sightedness and maybe a little bit of naivety

in how to actually bring kingdom.

And basically that they don't get the full scope of what Jesus is doing.

And then Andrew Chimeson on top of that and suggests that they kind of whittled down these people,
