We are going to be talking about the difference between the Protestant Bible, the Catholic Bible, Calvinism, and different religions, and what they believe. This is the kind of episode you live for.

Yeah, it's good. These are great questions. I really appreciate you guys sending things in.

These are good ones. So let's get started with this first question. It comes from Shauna,

from Instagram. Thank you so much. And to all our Instagram people, you can put your questions there too and we'll get them.

But she says, what is the difference between the Catholic Bible and the Protestant Bible, and why does that matter for Christians?

Yeah, so, Shauna, this is a great question.

And so I own a Catholic Bible, and I also have a Protestant Bible.

And the reason that I have two

Bibles is the Catholic Bible has seven additional books in it. A couple extra ones for history,

a couple extra for wisdom, and one extra prophetic book that is included in the Catholic Bible.

And so really, the fundamental reason is that when the church first started,

most of our manuscripts were Greek. And so we inherited the Greek New Testament and the Greek Old

Testament that's called the Septuagint. And that's really the book that we primarily worked from.

And then as the church began to grow older a couple hundred years into our history, we started

to notice that we had some differences in our Bible with the Jewish Bible. And so what happened

is Catholics kept the Greek list.
