Michael is not a hunter or at least he wasn't up until recently.

But a hunting experience in the wilds of Alaska became part of Michael's story and the story

that he shares in his book.

That book is titled The Comfort Crisis.

We speak with Michael about discomfort in the value of it.

We compare and contrast backcountry hunting to the everyday life.

A life which to quote Michael in the book says is progressively sheltered, sterile, temperature-controlled,

were overfed, under-challenged, and lived in safety-netted lives.

That's true.

We have convenience, we have comfort, and those are good things as we'll discuss in the show.

But too much of that is not good.

Too much comfort is creating problems.

And so we have, as Michael titled the book, a comfort crisis.
