0:14.9	So today I'm proud to introduce J.D. Whitlock, who brought up a really interesting thought during our intro call.
0:21.9	However, first, I'd like to hear a little about who you are and why you're being called a nerd.
0:27.5	Hey, Mike, I greet you meet you.
0:30.5	You know, I like geek instead of nerd, but it's your part to go with the nurse.
0:36.1	So I am chief information officer at Dayton Children's Hospital, Dayton, Ohio.
0:43.3	I've been doing healthcare IT for a lot of years, over 20 health care in healthcare close to
0:49.3	30 years.
0:50.3	I'm retired military.
0:52.3	And so I'm passionate about all things, healthcare IT and data.
0:58.4	And I do a lot of career mentoring, counseling, both with my own team and just with a lot of
1:08.2	younger folks in general in IT.
1:12.4	And that's what we're here to talk about.

1:16.8	So I got to ask because I go by Doug Geek.
1:18.7	So why do you prefer geek over nerd?
1:20.9	That's a good question.
1:22.1	Nobody's ever asked me that.
1:26.2	My wife will say nerd derogatorily.
1:26.9	Yeah. I say, I like geek geek better it's just become a joke between
1:30.2	us i guess that's all it is uh for me it's because of the that movie um uh revenge of the nerds
1:37.2	oh yeah there you go yeah you're right yeah i'm old enough to have been influenced by that yeah
